Waybound Privacy Policy
Last updated 24 July 2026
Waybound is a goal-achievement app made by The Grey Company. This policy explains what the app collects, what it does not, and how to get your data removed. It covers the Waybound mobile app on iOS and Android.
What we collect
Only what is needed to give you an account, and nothing more:
- Your email address. Given when you sign up, or shared by Apple or Google when you use their sign-in button. If you use Apple and choose to hide your email, we only ever see the relay address Apple provides.
- An account identifier. A random identifier created for your account, so the app can recognise you when you sign in again.
We do not ask for your real name, date of birth, phone number, address, or payment details. The name you type in Waybound to be greeted by is stored on your own device, not on our servers.
What stays on your device
Your journey itself lives on your phone and is not uploaded to us. That includes your chapters, waypoints, memories and their photos and notes, your journal, your horizon, your reflections, and your experience and ranks. Uninstalling the app removes them from the device.
What we do not do
- No advertising, and no advertising identifiers.
- No analytics or tracking software, and no third-party trackers.
- No selling or sharing of your information with anyone.
- No profiling, and no automated decisions about you.
Photos and camera
Waybound asks for photo library or camera access only at the moment you choose to attach a photo to a memory or a chapter cover. Photos you pick are copied into the app's own storage on your device. We never receive them, and Waybound does not read your photo library in the background.
Reminders
The optional reflection reminder is scheduled by your phone itself. No information leaves the device for it, and you can turn it off in the app or in your phone's settings.
Who processes your data
Accounts and sign-in are handled by Supabase, acting as our data processor, which stores your email address and account identifier on our behalf. When you sign in with Apple or Google, that sign-in happens with them directly under their own privacy policies, and they tell us only the email address and identifier described above.
How long we keep it
Your account details are kept for as long as your account exists. Ask us to delete it and it goes.
Deleting your account
In the app, open You and choose Delete account at the foot of the screen. Your account and the email address held with it are deleted straight away, and you are signed out.
Deleting your account does not remove the journey stored on your own phone. Your chapters, waypoints, memories and journal are yours and stay on the device; to erase those as well, delete the app from the phone.
If you would rather we did it, or you no longer have the app, write to support@greycompany.studio from the address you signed up with. We will confirm within 30 days, and usually much sooner.
Your rights
If you are in the UK or the EU you have the right to ask for a copy of what we hold, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, and to object to our handling of it. Since all we hold is an email address and an account identifier, most requests are quick. Write to support@greycompany.studio. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office if you are unhappy with how we have responded.
Children
Waybound is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly create accounts for them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page, and we will say so plainly in the app when a change affects what leaves your device.
